Blue Jasper's Story
You’ll find a unique menu blending traditional breakfast and lunch favorites, Southern-style specialties, and delicious dishes with Indian flair. We happily accommodate vegan and gluten-free diners with special menu options tailored to these diets.
Blue Jasper’s commitment to quality and fresh, handmade foods is evident immediately to Blue Jasper diners. We source ingredients locally when possible, like our baked goods from Sugar Cubed and tea from Seabreeze.
Executive Chef and Owner Baskaran Jeyachandren attended to culinary school in India at the Indian Institute of Hotel Management. He began his career working on different cruise ships and eventually ended up working at the Ritz-Carlton in the Cayman Islands for four years. It was on a trip to Michigan when he met his wife, Hillary. The two carried on a long-distance relationship until Hillary could join Baskaran in Florida. After working at the Ritz-Carlton in Sarasota as the Banquet Chef for a few years, Baskaran decided he wanted to break out on his own.
Although she had limited experience in the restaurant industry, Hillary was completely supportive and took the reins of the interior design and front-of-house management.
After living on Anna Maria Island for four years, but soon chose to lay permanent roots in Bradenton – a great place to raise two sons Chase and Ethan. We’re so excited and grateful for the warm welcome from the Bradenton community. Join us soon for an incredible, memorable meal at Blue Jasper.
